Bring our Dragons to your Community

At Dragon Song Productions, Community Engagement is at the heart of everything we do.

When you purchase a ticket, or buy a book, that helps us give back and support local community groups and charities.

We’ve created a range of interactive workshops to bring our magical puppetry and theatre to local groups of all ages and abilities.

We believe theatre should be for everyone, so we tailor our shows and workshops to fit different spaces and audiences.

If you’d like us to bring the magic of puppetry to your community, please contact us.

  • 'Bedtime Stories with Dragons' fundraiser for BBC Children in Need 2024

On Wednesday, the 20th of November Dragon Song Productions was delighted to hold a Sponsored Bedtime Story event to raise funds for BBC Children in Need.

Our event, Bedtime Stories with Dragons was held at the LifeCare Centre in Edinburgh. Children were invited to bring along their favourite picture books for an immersive reading with the Dragons.

100% of funds raised were donated directly to BBC Children In Need.

  • Dragon Songs & Stories for Book Week Scotland 2024

Dragon Song Productions was thrilled to join Portobello Library's Book Week Scotland 2024 festivities. Author Rachel Huggins gave a live reading of her children's books, "Bertie the Moon Dragon" and "Kipper the Sea Dragon," complete with songs from the popular puppet shows.

  • Royal Hospital for Children & Young People Edinburgh

Dragon Song Productions has partnered with the Royal Hospital for Children & Young People, supported by Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity.

We've organised performances and interactive book readings, including our recent production of Ice Dragon (December 2024), tailored to the specific needs of young patients.

  • LifeCare, Edinburgh

In December 2022, we were delighted to welcome several Dementia clubs from LifeCare to a special performance of Sea Dragon. The presence of so many senior members of the community was a highlight for the audience, and the club members themselves loved being part of a children’s show. It was truly a heartwarming experience for everyone involved.

At Dragon Song Productions, all of our shows and workshops are designed to be multigenerational and accessible, with relaxed performances at the core of what we do. We’ve worked hard to ensure that everything we create is as inclusive as possible. With a maximum of 40 participants in each audience (excluding carers), we have the flexibility to adapt the show or storytelling workshop based on the energy and needs of those in front of us. We often improvise, ad-lib, and have even invited audience members to join the performance!

We are passionate about using Dragon Song Productions to bring communities and families of all generations together, letting the magic of the art speak for itself, rather than relying on a mission statement.
