We specialise in early years work, and this focus shines through in everything we do.  We work hard to ensure that our performances are as accessible and inclusive as possible.

With a maximum of 45 children in each performance, every show is unique. Bringing our young audience close to the puppets and performers, allows us to create truly magical moments.

At Dragon Song Productions all of our shows and workshops are designed to be accessible and relaxed for our audiences.

It’s at the core of who we are and what we do.

Our performances tell simple tales, packed with humour and storytelling.

Each of the scripts is crafted in rhyme, and our shows are sung with beautiful original music, rich harmonies and vibrant percussion - leaving every child with music dancing in their heads.

We work with handcrafted felt puppets, designed specifically for our shows.

Our talented puppeteer is also a teaching assistant at a local primary school.

Her deep understanding of visual impact shines through in each puppet’s details.

Every child receives an age-appropriate interactive prop bag, filled with props, percussion instruments, lights, finger puppets, and plenty of hats and costumes.

This hands-on engagement with the story makes the experience unforgettable, bringing families back year after year as their children grow.

For more information on our interactive Props Bag, see our dedicated accessibility page here.

Moon Dragon tells the magical tale of Bertie the Moon Dragon, who falls asleep and forgets to wake the Moon.

With the help of eight majestic owls, a larger-than-life unicorn, and two comical frogs, Bertie embarks on a whimsical quest to find the Moon and lift it back into the sky before it’s too late.

Sea Dragon is the enchanting second instalment of the Dragon Trilogy by Dragon Song Productions. Building on the magical world of Moon Dragon, this production brings even more stunning puppets to life.

Filled with captivating songs and interactive storytelling, Sea Dragon invites young audiences on an exciting underwater adventure.

Ice Dragon is the exciting final chapter of the Dragon Song Productions trilogy. In this magical adventure, we meet all the dragons with the help of some new forest friends.

The story begins with a mysterious discovery in the forest—what could it be? Why is it here? And where does it truly belong?

Dragon Show for Babies

As early years specialists, we are thrilled to bring live theatre to young babies in their own dedicated performances.

These shows are specially designed for children under one year, offering new parents and caregivers a relaxed environment with extra space and the freedom to feed and care for their little ones comfortably.

While this production mirrors our Under-6 show, the interactive prop bags are thoughtfully adapted for babies, allowing us to sanitise equipment thoroughly between performances.

Dragon Shows for Under 6’s

Every Dragon Song Production is a magical world of storytelling and song, crafted especially for early years audiences.

These visually captivating shows bring simple, engaging stories to life with charming characters, lively music, and plenty of action.

Each performance lasts 40 minutes, and with small audiences seated on floor mats, the actors can interact closely with children, creating a truly immersive experience with both puppets and performers.

Technical & Safety Information

Technical Requirements:

At Dragon Song Productions we have a very flexible, easy set to transport.  This can mostly be done in one car, but is subject to actor availability. In some cases, an additional car or van would need to be hired.

We work with our own radio mics, but would need a sound system and an experienced technician to help set us up.  We have 6 bar lights as part of our lighting, as well as two floor spots.  Any stage lighting would need to have a technical rehearsal slot.  For each show this is roughly 1-2 hours.

The children sit on the floor on mats that we provide during the performance, but we would also require roughly 50/60 chairs in a U shape for other attendees.

Risk Assessments:

Full Risk Assessments are available upon request for each show.

PVG Checks:

Full PVG Checks are available for Rachel Huggins and Gigi Bacon.
